SARASOTA, Fla., October 15, 2026 — DarkMoth Group LLC, a sovereign American advanced manufacturing company, today announced it has completed an asset purchase from Taylor & Lego Holdings, LLC; Amphiuma Outdoors, LLC; Alan Taylor; and Stephanie Lego, the former owners and sellers associated with Rapid Composites.
The purchase strengthens DarkMoth’s ability to build more of its production capability in-house as it develops uncrewed aircraft for American defense and U.S.-based law-enforcement customers. By bringing composite-production assets, tooling, and intellectual property under DarkMoth ownership, the company gains greater control over critical manufacturing inputs.
The acquired assets formerly supported Rapid Composites’ engineering and advanced-manufacturing work, including composite development, prototyping, tooling, carbon-fiber molding, and production. DarkMoth now owns the acquired machinery, tools, and intellectual property associated with the asset purchase.
“We build capacity before we need it,” said Chris Frerichs, CEO. “This acquisition is part of that discipline — putting the equipment, tooling and manufacturing capability in place as we develop our aircraft, rather than waiting until an order arrives to start building the factory.”
Rapid Composites will not continue operating as a separate business following the transaction. Previous owner Alan Taylor will join DarkMoth as Chief Innovation Officer.
“Over 27 years, we revolutionized advanced materials and drone manufacturing. Now, I am proud to partner with this incredible team to scale our capabilities even further,” said Taylor. “We spent decades building the future, yet this next chapter is just the beginning.”
U.S. defense and public-safety customers are placing increased emphasis on supply-chain security, domestic manufacturing capacity, and compliance with federal restrictions affecting certain foreign uncrewed aircraft systems and components, according to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The acquisition expands DarkMoth’s U.S.-based composite-manufacturing foundation at a time when the ability to control critical production inputs has become increasingly important to the uncrewed-systems industrial base.
DarkMoth will incorporate the acquired machinery, tooling, and intellectual property into its Sarasota production operations. In parallel, the company is building its Jupiter headquarters, which will serve as DarkMoth’s corporate and operational center as the company expands its U.S.-based uncrewed-aircraft manufacturing capability.
